Talent Buyer

The Talent Buyer oversees talent acquisition for live entertainment bookings for Paragon Presents. The Talent Buyer is an exempt position that reports to the President of Paragon.

Essential Functions:

Responsible for all aspects of talent buying/booking for live shows and/or festivals
Negotiate contractual agreements between Paragon and agent/artists/artists’ management
Manage talent budget for Paragon booked venues
Work closely with accounting to manage show reconciliations for events to include, but not limited to, production, promotion, and box office
Identify prospects through networking, cold calls, research and building relationships with agents and managers
Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

Ability to establish and maintain solid relationships with major talent agencies
Ability to make timely and sound policy decisions
Possess excellent organizational, written and oral communications skills
Strong working knowledge of policies, procedures, and practices used in talent buying
Strong negotiating skills
Strong understanding of event production requirements
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Filemaker Pro
Ability to interpret and analyze event budgets, ticket sales’ estimations, production costs, advertising requirements, hospitality and technical riders
Ability to establish and maintain effective communication interdepartmentally
Must be a customer service oriented team player
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
Creative thinker, who is persistent and determined in finding solutions to meet goals

Requirements:  

Preferred Bachelor’s degree, preferable emphasis in marketing, business administration, or other related fields
5+ years’ experience in the entertainment industry buying for large theaters, arenas, amphitheaters, and/or medium to large festivals

Physical Demands: 

Ability to stand, walk, sit, use of hands to handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms,
Ability to lift and/ or move up to 25 pounds
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision

Work Environment:

Executive Assistant to the President

Executive Assistant to the President of Paragon Presents

 

The Executive Assistant role is responsible for the overall management of administrative, clerical, and operational duties as presented by the President of Paragon Presents llc. This role is responsible for directly assisting the President in the research and recruitment of potential events, coordination of operations, marketing initiatives, and communications with industry and media groups.

 

Essential Functions:

Network and build strong relationships with media personnel, venues, agents, sponsors, corporate partners and production personnel
Research potential events and acquire important data on a variety of events and artists
Assist with talent agents for the recruitment of artists, and artist relations
Assist in maintaining the President’s Outlook calendar and scheduling of calls, meetings, conferences and appointments
Check all mail, faxes, voicemails, and emails, returning messages in a timely manner (24 hours or less) or filtering to the appropriate individuals
Assist with coordination of contracts, event quotes, and insurance certificates
Assist in maintaining the events calendar database with event entries and management
Purchase card reconciliation and assist in vendor invoice processing to accounting department
Make travel arrangements for the President (flights, accommodation, and ground transport)
Anticipate, prepare, and distribute appropriate materials for the President in preparation for meetings, travel, and presentations
Initiate subsequent follow-up meetings and communication for key stakeholders as directed
Create, organize, maintain, and manage all event files, keeping all files confidential
Required to run business errands and office management tasks
Work closely with the marketing department to coordinate local marketing efforts
Oversee Paragon’s social media pages and coordinate local posts and interaction
Performs all other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Confidence when working with both internal and external contacts
Polished and articulate with strong interpersonal skills
Events acquisition, planning and coordination experience preferred
Excellent written, verbal, analytical, and organizational skills
Ability to establish priorities and manage time effectively
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
Must possess quality leadership and teamwork attitude
Must possess great attention to detail
Ability to multi-task effectively, and comfortable jumping in to handle new duties as they arise
Self-starter, motivated and possesses the ability to take action and make things happen
Strong problem solving capabilities          

Required Qualifications:

High School diploma; some higher education preferred
3 to 5 years of relevant administrative experience preferred
Experience working with events planning companies, venues or event promoters preferred
